Key Information for Parents During the School Closure

Update

Dear IUSD Community,

As previously shared in Superintendent Walker’s message, IUSD schools and facilities are currently closed. Beginning Wednesday, the District will offer emergency distance learning (EDL) opportunities to support the diverse needs of our students.

Some EDL activities may require access to technology. We carefully curate the educational software programs and tools we use to ensure that they are safe, age-appropriate, and accessible from any device (personal or provided by your child’s school).

If your child does not have a device to use for EDL opportunities, IUSD will provide one. District technology staff have organized regional technology check-out centers on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week to help students get access to the technology they need. To support social distancing guidelines, the technology check-outs will require an appointment in advance. To request an appointment, please complete this Technology Access Form. you have already arranged to check out a device from your child’s school, you do not need to complete this form. If you are unable to visit one of the checkout centers, please indicate that on the Technology Access Form and our staff will contact you to arrange an alternate pick up location and time.

If your family does not have internet access at home, we will work with you to help you get and stay connected. For more information about free and low-cost internet options, please see our Support Center. If you would like additional support or have other questions about home internet access, please complete the Technology Access Form.

We appreciate your partnership and understanding as we work to provide learning opportunities during the school closure period. Should you have any technology questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at helpdesk@iusd.org.
