About

Turtle Rock Elementary is located in the village of Turtle Rock at the south end of Irvine. Just two miles from the University of California, Turtle Rock's students hail from countries throughout the world, speaking many languages and providing the campus with a rich and diverse student population.

Embedded in Turtle Rock's continually evolving vision statement is the core belief that each student is a learner. Students work cooperatively to develop critical thinking, problem solving and communication skills as they strive to achieve the school's mission of enabling all students to become contributing members of society empowered with the skills, knowledge and values necessary to meet the challenges of a changing world. Turtle Rock's 800 students are taught in 23 heterogeneous classrooms and 3 academically accelerated classrooms plus library and science labs, computer labs, mini computer labs and wireless internet access throughout the school. The school was designated a California Distinguished School in both 2004 and 2010.
